How We Research & Recommend
At Best Coffee Guide, we are upfront about how our recommendations are made: we do not run a testing lab, and we do not claim hands-on testing we have not done. What we do instead is careful, honest research — the kind that helps you make a confident decision.
Our Research Process
1. We compare the specifications. For every coffee maker, grinder, or bean we cover, we line up the manufacturer’s public specifications side by side: capacity, materials, brewing temperature, grind settings, warranty, and price. Specifications do not tell the whole story, but they show what is actually on offer.
2. We read what independent experts say. We review published evaluations from established coffee publications, barista trainers, and experienced equipment reviewers. When several independent voices agree on a product’s strengths or weaknesses, that carries real weight.
3. We listen to real owners. We gather feedback from verified purchasers and long-term users across retail sites and coffee communities. Patterns matter more than single opinions — if many owners report the same issue, or praise the same feature, we take note.
4. We track prices. We follow prices across major retailers so we can flag genuine deals — and call out when a big “discount” is really the everyday price.
What We Do Not Claim
We do not claim laboratory testing, and we do not invent scores, ratings, or test measurements. We do not publish fake statistics, invented anecdotes, or tasting notes for products we have not tried ourselves. When we have not used a product, we say so — and we rely on the research above instead. You will never find fabricated data on this site.
Why This Approach Works
No single review can tell you which coffee maker is “best” for you. But by comparing specifications, weighing expert views, listening to owners, and tracking prices — all grounded in well-understood brewing principles — we can give you a clear and honest picture to help you choose with confidence.
